One of the truths that Maria's grandmother shared with her early on still resonates loud and clear:
Maria continues to live inspired and at the ready. Email to learn more.
Maria brings extensive experiences gained from working at startups to post-IPO companies. She has held leadership roles at national and international technology companies and made key contributions in not only running the Accounting function, but also participating in various activities: compliance, fundraising, diligence, human resources, acquisition and integration efforts. Along with her entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen, she has launched 360 Finance with a growth mindset and confidence in mutual success.
As an active CPA license holder in Massachusetts, (MA CPA license #63300), Maria keeps up with regular continuing education activities through organizations she has joined, primarily MassCPAs and the AICPA. She supports the AICPAs backing of legislation to add Accounting to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education. She is a first generation college graduate and proponent of education. Through MassCPAs, she also participates in several committees and has begun attending conferences with topics of interest, such as Women's Leadership. Maria is an advocate of diversity, equity, and inclusion and will continue to play a part in ensuring progress.
Community engagement, giving back, and sharing her unique gifts are core to her journey and a guiding force in maintaining work-life balance. Maria makes time for various initiatives outside of her professional career. She has collected additional invaluable experiences through volunteering with multiple 501(c)3 organizations and is thrilled to work alongside those who make a difference. The majority of these activities can be summarized as centering around plants and being a good relative in our ecosystem. She serves as Treasurer for the New England Rose Society and is involved with its membership and publicity committees. In 2022, she was awarded a Bronze Honor Medal of the American Rose Society for outstanding service. She recently joined the fundraising committee at Newhall Fields Community Garden where she began volunteering in their herb garden. She donates time (and plants!) to the Salem Native Nursery and Salem Sound Coastwatch. She is a member of the Salem Garden Club, and chair of its horticulture committee, as well as an ongoing volunteer on its scholarship committee and fundraising events. She participates in various community beatification efforts and has registered her home garden with monarchwatch.org and the National Wildlife Federation. Maria is a proud member of Native Plant Trust, United Plant Savers, Mass Horticultural Society, and The Trustees. She is always happy to talk about plants, pollinators, and how getting your hands in dirt really does increase serotonin.
Maria also participates in the Salem Book Buddies program which pairs volunteers with third grade public school students during the school year to exchange letter correspondence, demonstrate good writing techniques, and encourage dialogue and lifelong reading excitement.
